Development of Performance Measurement Models for Two-Lane Roads under Vehicular Platooning Using Conjugate Bayesian Analysis

چکیده

Vehicular platooning is one of the most challenging issues affecting level service (LOS) two-lane roads. This phenomenon has been involved with variables governing performance measures. Thus, to improve quality these roads and predict a comprehensive model for future plans under this phenomenon, present study aimed evaluate effect vehicular on measures then identify critical headways associated vehicle-gap-acceptance behavior. Multiple linear regression (MLR) Bayesian (BLR) models were used develop measurement that are based conjugate analysis. The was formed in threshold time headway 2.4 s. According comparative evaluation developed models, best predictive found between traffic flow number followers per capacity (NFPC). In addition, BLR showed higher accuracy rate predicting NFPC compared MLR due low errors high prediction performance. introduced as surrogate measure, which had premier capability LOS unsaturated saturated conditions two from Highway Capacity Manual (2010), including percent spent following average travel speed.
